One our multiplier events (E5) was held in beautiful and historic Canterbury, England from May 9 to 13, 2022. The mobility week was organised by Catholic Education Flanders and UCLL.
The event in Canterbury was hosted by Warnborough College, UK.
45 participants from Belgium, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, and Slovenia with our Dutch partners joining in online. While our first cohort gamely undertook the challenging sessions we set them, it was also an opportunity for our project partners to make observations about the progress to date and what improvements were needed.
The participants were tasked to create a lesson plan for a group of their students to visit Canterbury – a challenge especially for many who had never been to the city before.
Over the course of the week, they learned about the concept and principles of ‘adaptive expertise’ and what it meant to implement elements of this in their classrooms. Our Slovenian partners, NEIS, showcased formative assessment while our Dutch colleagues, Fontys University of Applied Sciences, ran a game on adaptive expertise.
During their downtime, they gallivanted all around and were offered the opportunity of a walking tour. The week culminated in the group attending the Evensong service at Canterbury Cathedral followed by a sumptuous dinner within the Cathedral precincts.
A fun time was had by all, with much learning taking place. Big thanks to the hosts, content leaders and all the participants.
